On the morning of October 10，2020 "FLTRP Uchallenge" National English competition-Taiyuan University of Technology (professional group)selection competition successfully opened in Mingxiang campus. More than 120 foreign language majors participated in three kinds of competitions，which include speaking, writing and reading.

10月10日上午，2020“外研社·国才杯”全国英语大赛--太原理工大学校内赛(专业组)在明向校区顺利开赛，来自外语专业的120余位学生分别参加了演讲、写作、阅读三类赛事的角逐。

“FLTRP Uchallenge" National English speech, writing and reading competition is an important foreign language competition sponsored by foreign language teaching and Research Press, and jointly organized by the College Foreign Language Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of education and the College English teaching guidance subcommittee of the Ministry of education. It has a high recognition in the field of foreign language education in Colleges and universities all over the country, and its gold content is also very high Every year, universities are attracted to participate. In the next week, nearly 200 students from other majors participated in the school competition(ordinary group). In recent years, the school of foreign languages has mobilized and organized all students to actively participate in the competition and to host the annual school competition. In recent years, our students have also made outstanding achievements in the finals of Shanxi competition area and the domestic finals. The holding of this competition will help to improve the students' foreign language learning, communication and use ability, improve their basic literacy, and lay a good foundation for their future development.

“外研社·国才杯”全国英语演讲、写作和阅读大赛是由外语教学与研究出版社主办，由教育部高等学校大学外语教学指导委员会和教育部高等学校英语专业教学指导分委员会合办的一项外语重要赛事，在全国高校外语教育界都有很高的认可度，赛事的含金量也极高，每年都吸引各大高校纷纷参与。在接下来的一周时间里，还有来自其他专业的近200名学生参与到校内赛(普通组)的角逐当中。近年来，外国语学院每年动员和组织全校学子积极参与此项赛事，并且承办一年一度的校内赛，我校学子近年来也陆续在山西赛区决赛和国内总决赛中取得优异成绩。此项赛事的举办，有利于提高我校学生外语学习、交流和使用能力，提升基础素养，将为他们今后的发展奠定较好的基础。
